JJ Abrams did not direct Star Wars 8, also known as "The Last Jedi," because he was already committed to other projects at the time. After directing "The Force Awakens," Abrams decided to step back and serve as an executive producer for the sequel, allowing Rian Johnson to take over as the director. This decision also gave Johnson the creative freedom to bring his own vision to the film and continue the story in a new direction. **

Direct current (DC) technology is a type of electrical power transmission and distribution system in which the flow of electric charge is uni-directional. This means that the electric current flows in one direction, from the positive terminal to the negative terminal. DC technology is commonly used in small electronic devices, such as cell phones and laptops, as well as in some renewable energy systems, like solar panels and batteries. It is also used in some specialized industrial applications where a constant and stable power supply is required. **

Most household devices, such as lamps, TVs, and kitchen appliances, require alternating current (AC) because the electricity from the power grid is delivered in the form of AC. On the other hand, electronic devices like computers, smartphones, and battery chargers require direct current (DC) because the internal components of these devices operate on DC power. In order to use these devices with AC power, they often have built-in converters or adapters to convert the AC power to DC power. **

The effectiveness of a direct or semi-direct democracy depends on the specific needs and circumstances of a society. Direct democracy allows for more direct citizen participation in decision-making, but it can be challenging to implement in large, diverse societies. Semi-direct democracy, which combines elements of direct and representative democracy, may strike a better balance by allowing citizens to have a say in important decisions while still relying on elected representatives for day-to-day governance. Ultimately, the best approach will depend on the unique characteristics and needs of a given society. **
